My first experience of creating a miniature catapult.
I wanted to create a working model. I succeeded only partly.
The catapult is shooting, but not far. It lacks power.
Having constructed it, I got necessary experience and knowledge,
which will allow me to build the second catapul in future.
And the second one will be a more terrible weapon in table wars.


Catapult in a discharged state. It is a foundation,
on which a winch and supports of the arm are fastened.


A load is fastened to the arm on one side. It is a wooden box,
filled with lead. It is rather heavy.


On the other side there is a box for a shell fastened to the arm.


A rope connects that part of the arm (on which a box is fastened)
with a winch in the foundation..


In order to fit the catapult out, it is necessary
to wind the rope to the winch's shaft. It will pull the box
for a shell down and it will be possible to put the shell there.


The catapult is ready for shooting. At first
I wanted to add a starting gear to this catapult.
But then I decided that this model would be trial
and a starting gear is not really necessary.


To shoot, you need just to let the winch's hand go down, and
The box with a shell swiftly goes up and the shell goes to its target.

As I have already tolld you, this is the first model of a catapult.
Its power is not enough for shooting a glas ball for 15 cm ahead.
A wrinkled paper ball will fly on 20-30 cm ahead.
It is impossible to wait more from this model.
Keeping in mind what must be changed in a new version,
I will create a more capable model in future.
It will be bigger, more powerful and it will take
a worthly place in table wars.
